Engr. Aminu Saleh Kunya is a veteran engineering professional with over 33 years of experience in the oil & gas sector across Nigeria and the Middle East. His career reflects deep technical expertise in project management, refinery operations, and maintenance planning—built through decades of service with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).

During his 28-year tenure at NNPC, Engr. Kunya held key roles in:

• Project Management & Supervision

• Engineering Design & Construction

• Commissioning & Turnaround Maintenance

• General Maintenance Planning & Execution

As Project Superintendent, he led rehabilitation efforts at the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), overseeing tank cleaning, process engineering (Areas I–III), and installation of heat exchangers, drums, piping, and valves. In his role as Deputy Manager, General Maintenance Planning, he developed and implemented refinery-wide maintenance strategies—improving workforce productivity, eliminating delays, and ensuring safe, continuous operations.

His responsibilities included:

• Scoping and scheduling preventive and reactive maintenance

• Developing cost and time estimates for planned works

• Creating task instructions and material/tool lists

• Managing equipment databases and maintenance history logs

Engr. Kunya is widely respected for mentoring young engineers and project managers, and for his ability to translate complex technical challenges into sustainable operational solutions.

Today, he serves as Director of Engineering & Technical Services at Harvel Engineering & Energy Ltd, where he brings his extensive field experience and strategic insight to ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of every service we deliver.
