Engr. Bashir Bello is a distinguished engineering professional with over 33 years of experience across Nigeria’s energy sector. His career spans technical leadership, asset integrity, midstream gas development, and corporate governance—anchored by a deep commitment to operational excellence and national impact.
He began his career as a Research Assistant at the Sokoto Energy Research Center before joining the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in 1991 as a Maintenance Planning Engineer at the Port Harcourt Refining Company. In 1996, he transitioned to The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), where he held several strategic roles including:

At Shell, Engr. Bello led the development of oil & gas facilities through full EPC phases—including gas compression modules, Twister gas processing systems, and pipeline networks. As Manager of Asset Engineering, he oversaw asset integrity programs, facility modifications, and capital maintenance strategies. His midstream gas role included oversight of asset management, joint venture governance, and corporate strategy at Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG).
As General Manager of Business & Government Relations, he served as a key liaison between SPDC and Nigerian government stakeholders—driving business intelligence, regulatory alignment, and corporate governance. He was also part of the Shell team that supported the hydrocarbon soil remediation efforts in Ogoni land.
